Data Line company is a large owner and operator of several data processing centres (DPC) in Russia.
The sites conform to the infrastructure and equipment reliability standards Tier III and IV meaning that their accessibility is 99.982%, and the power supply systems are able to support the DPC operation at any time, in the event of a grid failure. Data Line support more than 500 enterprises, such as major banks, chain stores, online shops, social networking and media companies.
Data Line has installed power at its new data processing centre, which is one of the largest in Russia. The project was carried out in two stages under the names NORD-5 and NORD-6. It was implemented by Complex Electric Power Systems (Erimex) Ltd, an authorised FG Wilson dealer in Russia.
One of the project features was the customer’s requirement to provide maximum sound insulation for operating gensets. This issue was resolved by using a critical exhaust silencer and by installing remote horizontal multi fan radiators.
The datacentre relies on eight P1700P1 FG Wilson generating sets powered by Perkins 4012-46TAG3A engines. The units were specially equipped with base frame mounted heat exchangers and remote horizontal multi fan radiators to meet Tier III and IV standards. This equipment was supplied by FG Wilson.
Reducing the noise level from the power site was essential as residential buildings are 50 metres from the site. The generator sets were therefore placed in low ambient containers with noise insulation plates. Such containers were designed and manufactured by Erimex. Remote radiators were mounted on a special platform above the containers which contained the generator sets.
Erimex delivered, installed and commissioned all containers and additional equipment to the customer site.
