Sustainability with FG Wilson

The use of fuels with low carbon footprints supports FG Wilson sustainability initiatives and celebrates FG Wilson commitment to Act Responsibly and Think Sustainably towards a better future.

Renewable fuels are derived from renewable resources such as planted crops. Regarded as Low carbon intensity these fuels, whether at 100% or blended, can be used as drop-in replacements for diesel fuel and can be used to reduce the carbon footprint of diesel engines on a Life Cycle Analysis basis.

Benefits of renewable and low carbon intensity fuels include*:

• No specific engine conversion process is needed when these fuels are used for the first time or thereafter.

• They are compatible with filters and engine oils used with typical diesel fuels. No impact on maintenance intervals is expected. In general, it is recommended that oil drain intervals are based on oil analysis

• They can be stored in the same tanks used for diesel fuel, and they have a similar aging life as diesel fuel.

Sustainable Manufacturing

FG Wilson is preparing to power a brighter future for our dealer networks, and at the core of this is a direct focus on improving sustainable manufacturing at every one of our global brand facilities.

Across each of our facilities, we are committed to reducing waste, operating efficiently, and ensuring that we use as minimal energy as possible this incorporates day-to-day operations and isn’t segregated from the manufacturing process.

We have innovated our facilities with technology to deliver ultimate energy performance.

Energy-efficient processes include:

• Implementation of enegy-efficient lighting – Sensor activated
• Automated controls on energy-consuming equipment such as HVAC
• Monitoring of emissions by land and water, and air
• Constant communication and engagement with colleagues to share knowledge
• Consistent, continual improvements to manufacturing and sales management process

We continually monitor emissions by land, water, and air, which means that our production processes are as energy efficient as possible; this was demonstrated recently with the production of the large engine range being relocated to the AEC facility, where not only can production emissions be reduced the potential carbon footprint on shipping to the dealer network can be minimised.

Improving efficiencies on emissions and improvement on customer lead time.

Engines & Emission Ratings

FG Wilson has invested in new technologies to help customers meet the most stringent of global emission standards - EU Stage V.

This new generation of engines meets Stage V while matching customer demands for value, innovation, and engine performance.

But that’s only the beginning of the benefits this new generation of engines has to offer - benefits that go beyond low emissions.
