A New Impressive Landmark In The City Of Glasgow
Our dealer in UK, DTGen has recently installed a P1000P1 FG Wilson generator set onto the roof top of the new ten-storey Building 1 of Atlantic Square development, in Argyle Street, Glasgow.
A 9m long container weighing approximately 20,000kg was lifted at more than 46m of height from the road to the roof level. DTGen team also mounted a permanent 1,000kVA load bank on the roof top for on-going maintenance testing. The generator set will support tenant electrical supply.
“A challenging site” – comments Brian Muirie, DTGen Sales Director - “having to hoist a 9m container 46m into the air amidst the throng of the extremely busy Glasgow streets, along with all the red tape and protocols needed to be allowed to conduct such an operation”.
The installation is supported by a P715-3 FG Wilson generator set for life safety electrical supply, that DTGen also installed in the basement area. A 3,500-litre bulk fuel tank was setup in the basement in order to supply fuel to the generator set on the roof.
HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) will occupy the new building in Argyle Street for a minimum of 20 years. The estimated 187,205 sq. ft. of office space will eventually accommodate around 2,700 full-time equivalent employees by 2021.
Atlantic Square will be an impressive two-building scheme and is the 10th of the 13 new UK regional centres that HMRC has announced as part of its transformation plans.
Legal & General has forward funded part of the project, which enabled the joint venture of BAM Properties and TCP Developments to start their work on the two-building scheme. The buildings have been designed by concept architects Cooper Cromar, with further refinement by BAM Design, and will be built by BAM Construction.
